i purchased the clone brews book and have noticed that none of the recipes are explicit about the use of hops...for example i know that there are basically three uses for hops in a recipe, and each are added at different times during the boil...however, the recipes never tell you if once you boil the hop for the proper amount of time, do you then take your muslin bag of hops out of the wort...or do you continue to boil the bag even after adding the next set of hops...and also, it doesn't say if you leave in the bags once you pour into the primary...i know some recipes out there do leave bags in, but is this the most common way to do it?

Yes, leave the bags in for the entire boil. The IBU calculations are based on actual boil times, so a 60 minutes add is boiled 60 minutes.

The hops do not go in the fermenter, most of the time. Some IPA recipes call for hops in the mash, in the wort before the boil, continuous adds during the boil, at the end of the boil, in the fermenter, the clearing tank and dry hopping in the bottle. Putting hop flowers in the glass is optional.:mug:
