So I kegged my imperial rye IPA last week after dry hopping in a bucket with a spigot and did not put hops in a bag thinking they would drop to the bottom of the bucket and would stay there when transferring to keg. Unfortunately the hops stayed in suspension and went into the keg as well. Tried to draw a beer and immediately clogged the poppit. So I sanitized everything, opened up the keg removed poppit, dip tube, cleaned them out, then zip tied a sanitized hop sock around end of dip tube. Repressurized keg with CO2 and tried to draw a beer again. No success. My only option, I guess, is to transfer beer to empty keg with a auto siphon with a mesh around pick up end to filter hops. Can anyone think of a easier way to unclog keg without having to transfer all the beer and risk oxidation?
