So I am in the process of brewing only my 2nd batch (NB Surly Furious), where it calls for hops to be added during seconday fermentation. I only have a single fermentation bucket, so I plan on keeping the brew in the bucket for an additional 1-2 wks.

Question - is there an "ideal" time to add these hops? The instructions say "with 1-2 wks fermentation left the hops should be added". Was just curious if there was an "ideal" time, by like taking gravity readings, etc.?

Thoughts?

Do what BendBrewer says. I trust his advice implicitly.

From personal experience, I've done 7 and 9 respectively and they were "ideal" for my IPAs.
