My first attempt at dry hopping went very well. This is my 2nd time. I brewed a Black IPA and dry hopped 1oz of Cascade hop pellets. This batch was my first attempt at kegging. When I took a sample of the beer, it had a noticeable amount of hop particles. I thought the particles would be gone after a few pints. It’s been 7 or 8 pints and every glass is filled with particles. When I was transferring from the secondary to the keg I didn’t notice a lot of hop particles getting into the keg, but obviously some did.

Is there anything I can do… transfer the beer to a new sanitized keg filtering it though a muslin bag?

Should I do something differently in the future?

I did exactly the same thing with my BIPA. I love it and it doesn't matter. If I were selling it, I might care, but it drinks well and if I get a tiny piece of hops in my glass, I see it as a little surprise!

Happy drinking.

Same thing happened with me. Dry hopped in the keg for the first time and I have tons of particles. My friend does it the same way all the time and doesn't have a single one...it's odd.

I was going to start a similar thread today, I found this and now my hope is dashed.

I've poured 2-3 pints and so far I still have a lot of hops floaties. It makes the beer a bit unappetizing to friends and I don't link floaties in anything tasty hops or now. I am hoping If I wait a few more days they will setting more and then be able to be purged in just one big pint.

Ghoti444 Did you beer ever clear up?

The danger here is that the hops may jam up the keg valves. This is extra serious if your kegs don't have a pressure relief valve. When this happened to me, I managed to get my beer out with only a jet of IPA in the face. I would transfer and filter while you've still got flow.
