First batch of brew after restarting the hobby and thought I'd try a brief cold crash just to experiment. No extra fridges or kegerators (yet) so I'm left to my own devices. :p

I'm using a standard 2 handled beverage cooler which fits my carboy nicely, loaded it up with ice (I can get it all the way up to the mouth easily), half pound of salt mixed in and some towels on top to keep the cold in. After 14hrs at this the beer is a nice 33 degrees and holding steady, ice has barely melted at all. Keeping it in the already cool basement helps a lot I would guess.

One question, how long should I keep this up for? 24 or 48hrs good enough before letting it warm up for bottling?
