I recently started brewing my own beer...I'm a data nerd by trade...another passion is being frugal (ultimately what drove me to making beer in the first place - a 4pk now in the grocery for 14bucks is rich).

Anyway - I'm wondering what tech you guys are using be it for the cool factor or legitimate brewing. I was at a local micro brew the other day that's working with IBM Watson and they gave me an impromptu tour of what they were doing (Watson drove their canning loss from 100 cans per run to 1) - which got me thinking about this.

I've seen the Tilt Hydrometer and so I was wondering what else is out there that your using?

I do temperature controls by trade so I set up a pretty nice diy brew room with a fermenter and kegerator

Raspberry Pints: computerized tap list, including a flow meter option.
BrewPi, and Fermentrack (and other BrewPi derivatives): web enabled chamber controllers

Between the Kegerators & Keezers, Fermenters, and Automation forums one could spend the rest of their days playing with computers 'n' controllers...

Cheers!

I am a software developer by trade. When I come home I am drawn to more primitive hobbies like brewing beer, gardening and working with wood (well...I suck at the woodworking part). Besides using BeerSmith Mobile and an Inkbird temp control, everything else is basic. I have thought about contributing to some beer related software development projects, I am just not sure that is how I want to spend my weekends. Maybe one day I will get around to blogging...or figure out "The Twitters".
