Anybody here recently try their luck with sending some homebrew over to our guys & gals serving in Afganistan? A friend of mine was just activated and I was thinking of trying to send him a sampling from home. Let me know. Thanks

I meant sending homebrewed medicinal aids for fighting fatigue and stress. I would never send "BOOZE". That's just ludicrous.

I may or may not have heard of a supposed persons mom sending her alleged enlisted son a touch of his favorite spirit in a "mouthwash" bottle. Beer would be a little tougher...

From someone who has been through it, you have a damn good shot at getting him in serious trouble. If he's on board and doesn't care, go for it, but DO NOT attempt it without him knowing because your little surprise could really ruin your friend's world.

As rats mentioned, people usually get in trouble for having the bottle. The others get in trouble for sharing it with an idiot or doing something stupid themselves. However...if his camp has apple juice...and he has a large water bottle or two... ;)

Save it for when he gets home. Like others have said it could get the Trooper in trouble. Besides Joe needs all his brain matter focused when he is in a place like Afghanistan. While some might think its cool to sneak some beer or alchohol to a deserving soldier, its would suck if said Trooper thought it would be "alright" to throw back a few, roll out the gate and miss something that could get him or his team injured or killed.

Believe me nobody I have deployed with has died from lack of "drink"
