Hi there. I'm a new brewer from Olympia, Wa (Technically Tumwater but who cares)

Just bottled my first brew 2 days ago.
Easy Amber Ale kit from my Local Homebrew store Health Crafts
Looking at the bottles today, I found a cracked one so I got to try it. A little hoppier than I expected for an amber
Anybody from the area have any input on Health Crafts vs. Rocky Top Home brew Price? Ingredient quality? Knowledge?

I'll leave the brewing questions for that area of the forums.

Been around for a few weeks just scopin the scene.

Well that's about it for now.

Welcome new brewer from Olympia ... or ah Tumwater. :mug:

Thank you!
I was beginning to think I said something really dumb and nobody wanted to talk to me.

Tumwater may as well be Olympia, it's like the weakest definition of a suburb ever.

Welcome.

Is Olympia brewery still running? I took a few tours of it back in 1992 and 1993. They had some good beers on tap there. A lot better than the stuff in the can.

Nope :( shut down in 03.
Miller says they closed it because it "wasn't profitable" but the true cause it that the city of Tumwater said that their waste-water treatment wasn't good enough. After they completely gutted and rebuilt the waste-water treatment system the city said it still wasn't good enough.
Miller closed the plant and with vengeance akin to Zeus's Lightning bolt, said Beer shall never be brewed here again. Only with a lot more lawyers and paperwork than Zeus probably has.

That is too bad. A little more history going away.
