If I may...While I wholly agree about the beauty of RT 100, it's a really dangerous stretch of roadway. No shoulders and significant traffic really wouldn't make this a peaceful run for anyone. You could take Winooski St down to River Rd and follow the river to Camels Hump road and back. That's just over 8 miles, way more relaxed and safer...Just a suggestion. Max would want you back in one piece for your huevos and bacon...

You're the guy who beeps at me every time I run that route aren't you?

In seriousness, I appreciate the suggestion, might go for that!

Vintage 2014 Norma, Clara 6/12/15, and batch 2 Flora Plum are all drinking beautifully, disparate threads woven together to form the skeins of a memorable evening.

Taking pause to reconsider the boundaries of beer glory... and now I'm getting in my car to hit the road, because I can't resist the call of the wild ale, can't wait to hit Greensboro

Anyone seen Don lately? Been trying to get ahold of him for the past 2-3 weeks via pm and text. Pretty sure he's going to FOFA so hopefully he sees this

M&C9 is a solid beer, but the sum is not greater than it's parts.
I would choose Everett over it every time.
I've noticed this with the CD series usually.

On a side note I'm always surprised by the Everett love, never been a fan of that beer. Maybe I've been unlucky with my bottles.

This gonna seem super weird, but think I have another angle on what could be the same encounter:

o_O new batch BA Everett? That was one of my favorite stout/porter releases from HF in recent memory. Highly suggest revisiting the BA version as well.
It was a couple years ago, it was super overcarbed, slightly metallic and fruity. Not awful but almost certainly contaminated IMO.

That's because you're palate is broken.

Everett is the porter all other porters should aspire to be, it's perfect.

This. Everett is arguably the best regularly-brewed beer in the world. 3F Oude Geuze is probably the only non-HF beer (so not counting Arthur, Anna, Edward, etc.) I'd put in its class. Maybe Pliny the Elder and some other really good west coast IPAs, and Pannepot if De Struise is still making that consistently.
