Thursday - Leave Boston, go to Parker Pie for lunch. Head to HF for the afternoon/evening. Go to AirBnB in Stowe. Maybe find a short 1-2 hour hiking spot in there.

I assume you're aware, but HF closes at 5pm. May want to switch it up. Coming from Boston, do Big Fatty's in WRJ for lunch, River Roost brewery at noon. Then hit up HF around 2:30/3pm. Then you can do Parker Pie for dinner before heading to Stowe. You can always spend a 3rd night in the Stowe/Waterbury area, but might be more interesting to fit in River Roost, unless you really want to hike.

My wife would like to hike. My thought was to hit Parker around open, head to HF around 12:30/1 and then get a hike in before heading to our Air BnB, or to go the Air BnB and hike after.

We have a 3 year old and a 1 year old, there is 0 chance in hell we sleep in past 8...

Regardless of the event/amount of drinks involved I am wide awake at 6 AM.

Longest day of my recent life...

Went to Indytruks138 house for the Board Game BIF night. Left said house around 2:30/3 AM. Drove 30 minutes home. 6 AM my 3 year old jumps into bed. No amount of coffee in the world was going to get me through that day...

If you've got a car, go check out Tree House's new spot. They may or may not have full pours in two weeks (none tomorrow, for example) but you'll be able to get cans if you want them. Hit up some combination of Armsby Abby / Medusa / Springdale / Jack's Abby / Exhibit A on the way back.

Having just been there on Sunday, I heartily second the visits to Springdale and Jack's Abby.

Starting to finalize my FoFA week plans. If you see a glaring omission please let me know.

Monday night -Arrive in Boston
Tuesday - Hang out in Boston, visit Trill.
Wednesday - More Boston (have been plenty, not looking to be super beer centric)
Thursday - Leave Boston, go to Parker Pie for lunch. Head to HF for the afternoon/evening. Go to AirBnB in Stowe. Maybe find a short 1-2 hour hiking spot in there.
Friday - Hit up Alchemist, visit Ben and Jerry's, go to Doc Ponds for lunch and Hen of the Woods for Dinner. Maybe find a 1-2 hour hiking spot at some point.
Saturday - FoFa with dinner at Pro Pig that evening.

In tow will be my wife, who surprised me with tickets for my 30th birthday. Other than stouts/barleywines she is not super into beer, which is why I am not going to Treehouse/Foam/Fiddlehead/etc... So non beer suggestions are more than welcome as well

Do I hit the highlights?

I've heard that Burlington Beer Co. has good food and I've generally enjoyed their beer. So if you plan to head over to Burlington at any point, it's a worthwhile stop.

Fiddlehead is right next to a pizzeria, and what they allow you to do is fill a growler, take it into the pizzeria, and then come back to the brewery and get your growler deposit back when you're done. So, that's one way to fit that visit in.

Foam is great; sucks you won't be going. The views/scenery in Burlington can't be beat either.

There's also a thread here which may have more info for you.

See you that Thursday, maybe!

Yeah we are doing big fatty's/river roost on our way up on Friday, big fattys even has a small table with coloring books and stuff to keep your little ones occupied. Can't recommend them and river roost enough.

Usually last thing I want to do after driving all day and then beginning to drink is hike, haha, but that would work.

You could also probably find a nice hike in NH on the way, or maybe Walden pond? Do that pre-lunch at like 9-10am. Then Big Fatty's at noon. HF by 3pm?

Closing on the house like less than 24 hours before FoFA, almost bailed, realized I was being irrational. Damn right I'm going. Gonna leave after the signing and head up Friday night to celebrate. Whole weekend is a celebration. I bought my first house. Let's get weird you guys.
Oh it will be weird at Shitlord Manor, 20 of us so far confirmed with another 3 possibles.....
Might die, oh well

I am in a similar situation. Driving up to Boston on Wednesday evening, hitting Tired Hands and Treehouse along the way (possibly Tilted Barn?). Leaving for Vermont Friday morning. Probably head to Foam from the Air BnB in Waterbury. Will have the gf with me who is also wanting to hike. Any recommendations along this route? Also I know it's been covered somewhere, but can I get bottles to go from HF during FoFA or do I need to stop on Friday? Thanks!

Mt. Pisgah is my favorite short hike near Parker Pie. The payoff to effort ratio is pretty high.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 5 Tasting Room; Bottle Shop Open 10-1 p.m. only

so yeah, like Marc said... bottles only. For those worried about picking up bottles, they open earlier than usual so you can get your bottles.

That is great info - might have to do that on Thursday... also travelling up with my wife and looking forward to enjoying a couple of days without kids, so we may just spend as much time sleeping in (if my body conditioning doesn't over ride things and just get me up at 6:30 anyways).

I'm looking for a share the friday before FoFA, I'm staying near Waterbury with a friend. I wonder how close that shotlord manor is
