I did, still waiting to hear back from them. I was planning to visit HF a few days before this but I may swap my travel plans around but only if I can bring my kid in with me. I don't live anywhere nearby and can't just drop her off in the middle of nowhere with strangers lol.. father of the year material right there :p
I'm 99 percent sure I've tripped over kids at FofA before

Kids, eh?
Hmm.... I'll cross that bridge when I get to it. But I may possibly have my monsters in tow if allowed.

The survey says!

Anyone know if a person under 21 can enter the event? I was going to take my daughter up that way camping and it just happens to be near the same day. Was wondering if I could pay for my ticket and she could enter with me.
There were definitely more babies than I expected at FOFA 2015. I don't recall any childern older than about 2 though. There were quiet a few wife/mothers with stollers and Baby Bjorns as DDs. The only other "kid" i recall was Shaun's niece, who was about 7, running around.

So then we are looking at a charter bus from Waterbury for DD services. Then, load up the kids on to the bus and have the bus go to the strangefolk show in Jay where there will be a ton of other kids and hippie mom's looking(or not looking) out for them. There is a waterpark so if music is not there jam...Make sure they all have shirts on that read "get me on the bus by 4 please" Although we may need to specify what bus. So most kids make it back to greensboro with a few extras, they get off, the DD riders get on and boom, Bob's your Uncle...

Does anybody know when Hill started including batches/bottle dates on his labels? A friend of mine has some older Anna and Arthur and they don't have any bottle date/batch information on them.

not 100% sure but I thought they always dated the bottles but had some bottles that they missed...

I know I have some bottles from 2013 with bottle dates and some without. For example b1 convivial is dated (jan 13) as was sank hans (don't remember date), but b1 soigne wasn't. I think by the end of 2013 pretty much everything was getting date stamped. I'm sure there are exceptions of course. But I'd guess your friends bottles are mid 2013 or earlier.

To clarify, some bottles certainly were dated before 2013, but I think those were mostly more limited stuff. The shelf saisons didn't start to get dated regularly until mid/late 2013 (which I believe coincided with their bottling machine coming online).

Pretty sure I had B1 Soigne bottles that were dated - drank my last one a few months back but the only Soigne I ever bought up there was B1 and I'm 99.9% sure they had a date on them.

If I recall correctly, not many of the shelf saisons from 2010-2012 were ever dated. Barrel aged stuff generally had a bottle number or batch number. Also, if those old Annas and Arthurs have gold caps, they are likely early 2012 or before. I believe mid 2012 is when they switched to the silver caps for everything.

Also, I'd send HF an email at info@... and this is the kind of thing I bet they'll get back to you with the real answer. I asked a similar question a while back in trying to date a very old Anna.

Yep. This is one of the bottles that was inconsistent as to whether it was dated or not. Here is my always incomplete batch list (hasn't been updated since the fall, feel free to)

I'm pretty sure anything that has a date in there is dated on the bottle unless specifically noted.

Now that you mention it I recall discussing Soigne bottle dates specifically and there are some bottles that have no date, and some that are dated (like 4/30/13 or something, EDIT confirmed 4/27/13 on spreadhseet). I still have one b1 that isn't dated. But yeah that supports the sporadic theory through most of 2013.

B1 do not have dates. I have one at my house.

Edit: I guess some did and some didn't??? o_O

This is correct. Had an undated Clara recently, from sometime in 2012.

EDIT: it was delicious.

I don't think any shelf saisons were bottled in 2010. I remember just getting growlers until 2011 and it took a while before each one had their first turn in bottles. Anna might've been the first that year.

Certainly possible. I didn't start going to HF until early 2012 so I'm not sure what they released in bottles that first year.

Note to my 2012 self: trade for all the Mimosa.

I want to say Arthur was bottled (and brewed) first and Anna second but facts would change that argument in a hurry. First trip in later 2010 was strictly growlers though - not sure if anything was bottled at that time or if they had just run out. I remember driving for what seemed like forever and chatting for a good 30 minutes with Phil and Shaun while maybe 3 more people visited the brewery in that span of time.

IIRC Art B1 hit Blind Tiger around the same time (or even before) it got bottled. Wish I had the foresight back then to grab more than one but I was far more of a hophead back them and was more than happy to empty the remainder of my wallet on growlers of Double Galaxy.
