can we get a best->worst ranking for
indy?
We drank in this order which I think worked well.
Norma, Iris, Flora B/B, Le Sarr, Art, CD11
I can't really rate them all against each other as there are different styles mixed in, however I can do it for the wine BA saisons. But i'll start with the others. I don't typically write reviews so bear with me. Each bottle split 3 way. No 2 ounce pours here.
Norma- Had a 2013 Vintage back in Fall 2014. I would say I enjoy Norma fresh as this was the most recent batch the flavors were more explosive.
Iris- Nothing new here delicious and complimented Norma nicely.
Flora Blue Black - very interesting how it shared lambic like characteristics of funk on the nose, damn delicious and tart. I honestly didn't feel like it translated blueberries which is very odd considering 80% of fruit used was blueberries. I was getting more of like a passionfruit/dragonfruit. Regardless incredibly balanced with a striking tartness
For me Art tied with CD11 > Le Sarr
Le Sarr - Appearance is more lighter orange/yellow than fresh which was much more burnt orange hue. The flavor was about the same, perhaps a little better fresh
CD11 - Upon opening it gushed about an ounce. It was citrus all the way, white grapefruit, massive kumquat. Reminded me a little of Sue without the hops and bitterness. I would call it KG Anna (Kumquat Grapefruit)
Art - Foamed up over the top of the bottle but in no way gushed like CD11. Nose and taste both hits you with all 3 levels HARD. lemon/granny smith apple, barrel, funk. Incredibly well balanced.
