was there in line shortly after Koko (945ish) and was 18th. they started at 11, I was out by 12. The line was to the door and wrapped back towards the bottle only line the entire time. doubt anyone got through that twice.

Norma was growler only line, Phil said he should have enough for everyone inside and on that line at 11 when they started.

So many grannies and bored girlfriends in there today... way to show up new money...

Even though it took us 3 hours, that was the furthest I've ever been on line and they had extra help and it showed. They really were.busting their asses getting the lines moving

Damn man I walked in at 10:55 and you were sanding right at the door and I said I guess it's bottles only today.
I estimated 2 hours for you to get through that line. But 3 is ridiculous.
I will give you that. The staff was going as fast as possible while I was in there today. While only 25-30 minutes total still saw them going crazy.
Sad feels I didn't get any Norma but still a productive as hell trip

probably just a nice guy and a dad looking to get some bottles for his daughter flora

Should Have Confiscated The bottles He had to set an example

I did see a guy successfully go through the bottle line twice

With the ipad based POS system they use now I'm not sure how that would be possible unless he gave two different names. Not saying it didn't happen, but you'd have to be pretty ballsy and a great liar (read: a-hole) to do it.

I agree with Thevicster. There needs to be some consequences for stuff like that, otherwise people will just continue to do it.

Jim wasn't asking for names in the bottle line yesterday while I was there.

Yes

yesterday they were not taking names to make the lines go faster. So you tell them what you want pay then leave

I'm not in law enforcement or anything but I'm pretty sure that what you guys are proposing is something called "stealing". You are seriously advocating them to take back something the person already paid for because they got in line again for more bottles?

I imagine the people suggesting this intended for the limit abusers to be refunded the money for those bottles.

Or maybe just a lifetime ban from HF would be easier (with mugshots).

My thought was they would refund the guys money when they took the bottles back. But seeing as it would likely be difficult to get the person in question to hand them over I would just ban the guy for a year or something. Call me crazy, but I think there should be consequences for breaking/trying to break rules - and I don't limit that to just beer.

EDIT: Ataraxia beat me to it.

I agree with penalties for not following rules but the original way you two chimed in it wasn't very clear with what you meant. I agree that the person would probably just tell them to go screw and not hand over the bottles. I also think a ban is tough because so many of the neckbeards look exactly the same and there is so much traffic up there that I can see a
"banned" person having no issue getting back up there to buy stuff.

Haha yeah I can see how it was unclear, so to clarify I'm not advocating stealing anyone's bottles. The ban would really rely on them utilizing the POS system for all sales, otherwise you're absolutely right that people could still get through without being recognized.

First we had the riveting discussion of whether or not the label said to refrigerate. Now we're delving into semantics of punishment(which we have no say in anyways) for a small portion of customers abusing the system.

Can we discuss Flora Blue/Black, has anyone drank it yet?

Time for them to invest in some facial recognition software maybe. Man do I hate beer and the beer scene.

I hope that people are pounding the Citra single hard enough that they put Mosaic on so I can hit dat when I go up Saturday.
Well, I did my part. Grabbed a 2L of Citra Single yesterday. Great stuff!

Yesterday sure was crazy! Thanks for the details, I was wondering if all those people that were in line at 12:10 when I arrived had been waiting out in that nasty cold and wind for hours... I was there until 3:40. Two guys behind me waiting didn't even like the beer (I overheard their comments while doing the tasters). Evidently they were getting beer for someone else. Would I wait 3.5 hours in line for someone else's beer? Hell no!

No limits had dropped as of 3:40, and the bottle only line had reduced to about 10-15 minutes. There was probably enough people in the growler line for a 2+ hour wait for people arriving as I left.

Anyone know if Flora B/B will continue to be sold in bottles only line? I won't get there until tomorrow AM, so I'm assuming there is a good chance there will be nothing left by then regardless.

I'd be surprised if they ran out today.
