I personally have never understood the love for Worthy Burger but all of my local friends love it... (my guess, it's the closest joint to their houses)

They consistently have solid beer on tap or new stuff from breweries like pilot batches from Long Trail and Smuttynose. They also get a lot of NY state kegs since the owner also owns blind tiger. Fresh Sixpoint kegs are nice.

I can eat and drink there for $20. That's great for a locally sourced farm fresh craft beer bar in Vermont. Hard to do that anywhere else.

and honestly, it's not that Worth is that close to my house. It's not much farther for me to go to Three Penny by the time I'm at worthy.

Agree. Worthy is overrated. And so is its sister restaurant, Worthy Kitchen in my hometown of Woodstock. It's Worthy Burger with a worse tap list. Think Three Penny is tops for me. Pro Pig is a close second. Parker is a fun spot as well. But AJ is right - most spots are way better than average and I'm happy to drink (and eat) there.

Man, I'm going to be real bummed if I don't get Zwanze tickets. It's by far the closest location for me, and probably the only location I could actually make it to.

If I don't get Zwanze tix from HFS....it's disappointing but we have Portland ME and two Mass locations to choose from. I'm 2.5 hours from 4 different Zwanze events so not gonna cry about it.

Missed Zwanze @ HFS last year because I went to my ex-GF's best friend's wedding. In retrospect, I should have gone to Zwanze.

Not sure how many agree, but IMO Three Penny > the Waterbury trio, especially taking food into account.

Hmm really? I've eaten at Three Penny three times and the food has always been meh. Always stop for some great taps and dat Back Acre though.

and just for the sake of input on places in VT to eat and drink...

1. Parker Pie is my favorite... food, beer and people... just amazing.. plus location
2. Three Penny... I love those guys over there. They make great food and know service really well.
3. Rez... Rez went from worst to first in Waterbury IMHO... some really nice staff and just a relaxed ambiance
4. Pro Pig... food really depends on the specials.. the cocktails and bartenders are awesome though..
5. Worthy... good food, good taps... location usually only permits me to go on the way back home.
6. BB... hope the new owners fix some issues and get HF back in there. Used to be my favorite, even if their Mad Taco was never as good as the Waitsfield or Montpelier locations...

Still haven't been to Three Penny. Need to rectify that eventually.

Worthy Burger burgers are soooooo good. Have stopped there every trip I've made to HF in the past year (on the way back at least).

Anybody going to be up at HF this Saturday? Just seeing if anybody would want to do any IP trades etc. will be solo trip for me, heading up to Canada on Friday night then down to HF on Saturday for a quick cannonball run and maybe a stop at PP.
