Is it just me, or does anyone else think that about 98% of the people trying to get Festival tickets have no real intention of going and are getting tickets for the markup they can get?

This is true. I saw a post where a guy was offering a box of Vermont beer for everyone to sign up and get him the tickets. Internet muling. I said FOFA is a small event to get 1:1 with the HF team. How would they (Shaun) feel if you had a ton of internet mules guaranteeing you get tickets ? The guy understands everyones take on it but doesnt care. To each their own. I would personally be embarrassed to show up to the event. This isnt DLD with a **** ton of people.

Disclaimer: i want to go. i put my name in the lottery as did my wife. I think everyone does that. But publicly internet muling is different.

Fun fact : just found out that the homeless guy on my corner has a cell phone. Not sure about a drivers license though.

Well said. FoFA is the one HF fest I've never been too and I'd really love to make it this year. I'm hoping for an experience like Zwanze Day last fall, which was really low-key and such a smaller scale than say the previous Anniversary Fest. I've entered twice (it did allow me to do it from home...there must be some IP tracking too) and now just hope I can get lucky with the lottery. If by some chance I win with both entries, I'm giving the tickets to other guys in my tasting group who applied and likely will have missed out (we can't all win!)

that's so ******... last year, I struck out and was lucky enough to have someone who couldn't make it (for unfortunate reasons) sell me his tix at face value

Same. A trading buddy of mine somehow got through online to buy tickets for both the VIP and General Admin session of the '13 Anniversary Fest. I tried both and missed both...he sold me the general admission tickets for face value. Awesome.

Next couple "shelf" saisons and Vera added to the upcoming releases page:
  • Convivial Suarez: Farmstead Ale brewed with Hibiscus Flowers.
  • Florence: Our Wheat Farmstead Ale.
  • Vera Mae: Our Spring Blossom Ale - brewed with Dandelion Flowers, Honey, and Spelt
Suarez from the foudres ... want.

Suarez from the foudres ... want.

So Vera Mae is an august release so this list is quite insane:
    • Nordic Saison - Our collaboration with Anders Kissmeyer of Kissmeyer Beer & Brewing and Will Meyers of Cambridge Brewing! This Scandinavian-inspired farmhouse ale embodies the newly burgeoning Nordic beer movement spearheaded by Anders.
    • Convivial Suarez: Farmstead Ale brewed with Hibiscus Flowers.
    • Florence: Our Wheat Farmstead Ale.
    • Vera Mae: Our Spring Blossom Ale - brewed with Dandelion Flowers, Honey, and Spelt.
    • Civil Disobedience... 10, 11, 12...
    • Aaron: Our bourbon barrel aged barleywine...
    • Bourbon Barrel Aged Everett: The previous release... aged many months longer in oak.
    • Art
    • Ann
Things can change but if the past is any indication, Nordic, Convivial and Florence will all arrive between now (July 10th) and August 15th and perhaps be a case limit each or at least 6 bottles per person. This is going to be an expensive month but the ability to drink Anna, Arthur and Soigne almost every other day for the last 4 weeks has been freaking awesome and I'd love to continue that.

Shame the other bottles are arriving after Vera but I guess it's safe to assume these bottles will take us through November-ish. I only say that because Birth of Tragedy & Twilight of the Idols are traditionally Fall releases and aren't listed.

Gonna call my HR department and have 10% of my paycheck get auto-deposited into Shaun's. It's the only way to keep up.

I don't expect more Damon until next year but who knows. Juicy, Mimosa, Prolegomena and other 'wild' rebrews need 18+ months and those were brewed early spring so those are also a next-Fall arrival at the earliest. In lieu of Damon, I'd love another Madness & Civ this Fall along with BoT & Twilight. Genealogy of Morals and BoT are neck & Neck for my favorite dark beers from Shaun. I think both of those are technically Imperial Porters.

Either way, 2014 is turning into my favorite year for HFS releases.

I wouldn't necessarily put too much faith in that the order listed is the order released. wasn't Peleg (released this week) listed BELOW Aaron last week on the upcoming list? the big upcoming list back in feb/march/april released in a different order than the list would have indicated too...

Things change often....agreed. Last year when HFS signaled 9+ months of releases as a benefit to people considering applying for Collected Works, I thought that was a bad idea because things change so often.

But with FoFA so close, I would imagine the bottles listed now to FoFA must be pretty set in stone.

Thanks Bill. I hope to meet you up there and the name tag thing from DonFrap is a great idea

I entered the lottery and have no intention on going (I'll be in Oregon), but only as a backup for vonnegut21. If both of us win then I'll have mine available to a TB member who didn't, purely at cost.

I do think that Shaun made a bad choice to make tickets easily transferable, given how much he seems to dislike profiteering and the secondary market based on his previous words and actions.

Anyone with insight on how long he usually bottle conditions Arthur before putting it on the shelf?
Depends on how the batch conditions. Usually three weeks is the minimum if all goes well. But certain batches take longer. B2 Convivial conditioned for like six months until it was ready.

Damn! Looks like I'll just miss it. Not like there won't be other great stuff available though. Thanks!

never even dawned on me to try to get something crazy for my tickets...I signed up (just me, not even my wife) in the event I get them that someone here would need them. I'd want face value or the equivalent in beer is all

There's only two sites in my bookmarks. TalkBeer & DontDrinkBeer....neither of those have anything to do with consuming beer.
