Just hire a party bus to/from Waterbury. Problem solved

that'd be easier if this lottery wasn't harder than the powerball and you could actually get enough people you know who have tickets to kick in for a party bus...

it'd make sense for the organizers to arrange it, see Lawson's anniversary party.

Then people better find non-beer drinkers, because anyone who can sit through a HF festival without being allowed a drink deserves some nice beer to make up for it.

I don't think it will be that tough to find people to drive. Mainly because it's the only way to buy at the retail shop that day and the ticket is free. I'm going to be at my place in Eden for all of August and that weekend is when my Mother in Law is staying with us. I'll be DD for any group of TB'ers as far as Waterbury with a vehicle that doesn't require a CDL.

If i win a lotto ticket i'm sure myself and others will make it worth your while

If i lose the lottery I would more than likely willing to DD also. If I win hopefully we can get a party bus from somewhere. Even if people aren't staying in Waterbury we can always just park in town and take the bus up.

Looks like I'll be at HFS this Friday afternoon. Hoping Peleg lasts that long. Same goes for S&S4 + S&S4. I could drink a crap-ton of both of those daily for life.

ftfy

srs, in the two years it's been since I've had S&S4 I forgot how amazing it is.

Lol stop being dicks. This is copied from the FoFA ticket alternative page. It looks like you can share DDs so that could help.

Designated Drivers
Because of our location and inability to offer camping this year, we know that this could present a safety issue. With that in mind, we have elected to require designated drivers for attendees. We will provide a free designated driver ticket with each ticket purchase (one DD ticket per pair or single ticket purchased), so that we can ensure that everyone is safe and sound.
The DD ticket will include free non-alcoholic beverages, a voucher good for one food purchase from our vendors and event entry to enjoy the music and (we hope!) wonderful weather.
Carpooling and DD-sharing is encouraged, especially for those of you coming from great distances. Attendees must enter with their designated driver; attendees without a designated driver will not be admitted. Security will be on site to screen drivers and administer sobriety tests if needed for all out-going cars at the end of the event. We hope you understand that we have our attendees’ safety and best interests in mind, and hope that this will ensure a relaxed and stress-free environment.
If we have to enter with our DD, does that mean we can't take a bus or taxi to the event? The DD has to be someone that attends the event as well?

I doubt they are checking that everyone enters with a DD... it's more a courtesy of giving everyone a DD ticket to ensure they have (the option) of safe travels... they encourage car pooling and sharing DD's... DD's get free food and a non alcoholic drinks... don't think this benefits them in any way other than legally assuring they are not held responsible if someone does not abide

It says you need to enter with your DD.

Yeah, started poking around after all the Waterbury lodging was all booked, thought that spot would make for a grand bottleshare flophouse.
Yeah someone should just book that I will come regardless of if I win the lottery for a bottleshare.

Also I would still book it myself but my wife will murder me if she saw $540 disappear for some rando place lol

Perhaps a post-lottery flophouse/bottleshare location/DD securing convo will be in order. That said, I imagine that some Best Western res's will become open following the lottery results.

Do you all think it will be difficult for me to procure a ride and place to stay after the lottery winners are announced? I know sometimes in small towns there aren't enough taxis to fulfill all the requests on a big event day like the HF event. I also heard the hotels in the area are all booked. If I fly out I'm going to stay in VT for at least 5 days or so, so I can try to get some alchemist and Lawson's and also just enjoy Vermont. My point is that I guess I'm looking for some info from locals that know how transportation and accommodation will be after the lottery winners are announced. It just wouldn't be worth it to buy a plane ticket and entrance to the event with out having the basics in order...

taxis may be difficult.. they are quite limited I believe, but people will share DD's if you're close by... as for a place to stay, as others have said, people booked in Waterbury and stuff should open up if they strike out.

I'm sure there are plenty of beer talkers here who would be willing to help you out if possible.
