If you're just looking to try it (not bring it home to share/trade), Three Penny Taproom usually has bottles for on premise consumption at $22/per. Only a few bucks more than I've paid for it whenever I've come across it in a bottle shop.
I've had it, most recently this past weekend. love that beer!

I thought the stores down south had a perpetual supply. I learned the hard way after taking a trip down this past fall and being laughed at. Hunger Mtn usually gets a delivery once per month, but even then, they don't know when it will come and is usually gone within a few days, if not that day. If I ever see it, I buy it, even then, it's only been a couple of times in the past 8 months. Talk about a white whale. Great beer.
So very much this.

I know that Backacre is typically delivered the first week of every month, if that helps (I've seen Tues, Wed, Thu and Fri deliveries that first week). Typical delivery for any given store is 2-3 cases.

Totally a great beer. Probably my favorite American gueuze-like beer. Hunger Mountain is practically a must-stop any how on the way to HF, so if you're ever going up the first week of the month (on a weekday) you may be in luck.

Even better - it comes in a proper lambic basket when ordered.

Protip for first timers considering accomodations:

Just because it's the end of May does not mean it won't snow in Vermont.

2 years ago, I was in an outdoor pool... last year, snow storm and my boys lost their tent.

I'll be hoping for the former to repeat this year.

Fact. Witnessed multiple tents tumbling into the distance through the snow last year. And our tent was DESTROYED by the wind/snow/slush. I mean unrecognizable almost. Bottle share that night at Best Western helped soothe the senses a bit though.

I think I had on 4 layers and was still freezing. That day sucked.

yeah, my girlfriend had to go to the car for a bit to try to warm up.
it wouldn't have been too bad if it wasn't for that wind!

I remember helping you and Scott try to salvage the wreckage. Look familiar?

my boys' tent was the one that was posted on Youtube/Facebook last year tumbling away...

Yup! You can see what looks like an upended white 12-legged spider at like the 17 second mark of that video. That was our canopy/tent!

What I still can't fathom is that people actually camped out that night still. What were there, like 15 people who did that? Saw pictures showing they had like three inches of slush on the ground by the time the share was happening. Amazing.

That's the event? I have not been to Parker Pie, but having it centralized at those 3 places in Waterbury sounds like a tuuuuuuurible idea. Blackback is especially tiny. Can't wait to read the boards that day with people mentioning 3 hour waits just to get in.

Hoping they just shut down that section of street and turn it into a block party.

Best Western is apparently already booked solid for MDW. This is going to be a shitshow of epic proportions. If I were going to do this, I'd take Friday off to hit HF and then post up at Pro Pig once it opens on Saturday. Going to be crazy waits at every bar on Saturday, especially when everyone is coming back from HF.

my schedule so far is...

Weds: drive up, HF, Three Penny, Hunger, CBC, Bar Hop in Waterbury
Thurs: day trip to Montreal
Fri: HF in the morning and stop by Parker (hopefully not too late)
Sat: all depends on the schedule
Sun: hang at the house and BBQ
Mon: might re-do the Waterbury scene
Tues: head home!

Totes jelly. Enjoy the bday celebrations bud!

Lol, anniversary party is going to be a shitshow. Can't wait to see how early the neck beards decide to line up outside a bar for draft pours.

Smart thing Shaun could do is either
A) Send the same kegs to the same bars
B) Do NOT post the draft lineups in advance.

They could've also spread it out across multiple weekends but I guess that makes it less of an anniversary.

I assume tap lists, based on past festivals, will vary since a lot of the beers they tap are one keg and done.

FoFA is where it's at anyway :)
