Went today right after the (incredibly well organized and enjoyable) Alchemist release. Long line outside at 1145am. Maybe 30 deep. Norma was back to 2 per. Plenty left for the day, maybe til Wednesday? Daybreak knocked down to 1 per. Maybe 4 cases left. Bottle line took 5 minutes. Norma only.

We were up today at 2pm. Walked in and was absolutely floored - No Line whatsoever.

Went today right after ... Alchemist release. Long line outside at 1145am.

The alchemist release probably meant all beer trippers were waiting until today, and that's a sizable portion of HF weekend traffic.

Heady shipment came in at 12:45. We got a case each plus some surprise Backacre that showed up (only 2 cases total). Made missing out on DS better.

What's the Backacre sitch like anyways? Stores aparently but random drops? I've got a bottle that was given to me in the fall finally taking it to a tasting tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.

Hunger Mountain guy said they get a small shipment in once a month. This shipment was only two-12 bottle cases. Just happened to be in the right place at the right time

Damn... I must have missed the Backacre by no more than 30 minutes... way more upset about missing that than Double Sunshine.

Great beer. A pain to get, as it's only deliver to 3 or 4 stores. I was under the impression Hunger Mountain only got it occasionally. The other stores are all further South and not really near all the other "beer stuff".

Yeah, I've been able to buy it a few times, but I have to drive considerably out of the way, and have to time it just right, and hope the small shipment (2-3 cases) hasn't been depleted by then.

That sounds quite accurate. It is a pain to find/buy, but it is a treat if you do.

also a buddy just made a single barrel of bourbon maple syrup....it's delicious on Jasper blue cheese with pita crackers. seriously.

I thought the stores down south had a perpetual supply. I learned the hard way after taking a trip down this past fall and being laughed at. Hunger Mtn usually gets a delivery once per month, but even then, they don't know when it will come and is usually gone within a few days, if not that day. If I ever see it, I buy it, even then, it's only been a couple of times in the past 8 months. Talk about a white whale. Great beer.

If you're just looking to try it (not bring it home to share/trade), Three Penny Taproom usually has bottles for on premise consumption at $22/per. Only a few bucks more than I've paid for it whenever I've come across it in a bottle shop.
