Question for you all:

Would you rather have bottle shelf updates in this thread, or have a second thread with release info and keep this one as a general conversation/bitching about bottle release/peoplecallingshaunadouchebagandotherpeopletellingthemtofuckoff thread?

I think between myself and adam, we should be able to keep this community pretty updated on what bottles are on the shelf.

Hah. I'd do my best as long as people don't start messaging me asking to trade HFS beers like they do on RB it's fine. I can post stuff, just not trading shaun's beer anymore. Everything is too limited and too delicious.

Pretty much this. The people who I will send HFS to already know who they are. The vast majority gets drank :)

I bet that is going to be one hell of a crib.

Still in the concept stages, but it most definitely will be lol

Satsuma confirmed for today, I think it's just that and guest bottles though (golden blend, tilquin)

Reserves of satsuma are on the lower side, but looks like it might make it to the weekend.

Quick question (not sure if it's been addressed in this thread yet): what is all the construction at HF for? New brewhouse? Barrel space? I must've missed the announcement...

Flora satsuma on the shelf today along with elaborative one.
Prolegomena was on the shelf for a short time yesterday/early today.
Today was the first time I have ever gone and there was nobody there. I literally walked in and set my growlers on the counter. This was about 330pm.

Looks like their strategy has paid off.

I'm honestly not sure if you're being sarcastic? (Not trying to be a dick, I just don't know the intent of your post.) They want it dead, but not THAT dead. Now it's just going to be a mob scene on the weekends I would imagine.

I was being serious. I see Shaun as trying to reduce the amount of mules/people just trading his beer, and it seems successful so far. His beer is still going to sell for those who are serious, and at the rate he produces it I don't see what is wrong with it being dead from time to time.

The first time I went up there (over 2 years ago now) I was one of two customers in the tasting room the entire time. It was great to hang out resting my arms on the bar and chatting with phil, who wasn't stressed at all :D.

I don't see why it's a big deal if there's really is less traffic now. It used to be quiet there all the time even on Saturdays.

Just going off past experience, where I was told they were putting stuff on the shelves to drum up traffic. I would think it might be a but worriesome if you make x amount beer anticipating a certain amount of people and get a lot less than that. I could easily be dead wrong though.

This is excellent. Busy enough to sell enough beer, calm enough that you can, ya know, enjoy your time up there again. If there were ever concerns about needing to sell more beer I'm sure he could just announce a bottle release and sell enough growlers and shelf stuff to clear the room for more.

I have to believe that the expansion is very calculated - enough bottle release/the great explosion of summer 2013/continued showed them what demand really is and will allow them to sell as much beer as they want.

Even if their sales drop like a rock in the tap room I don't think they'll have any trouble selling beer outside of their brewery. Maybe Boston will see a legal shipment of HF again someday.

I was going to say, even if sales at the brewery tank, they could quadruple draft accounts overnight if they wanted to. There is no way they won't sell every ounce they produce. Personally, I like the idea of having little or no line when I visit. It's been too long since that happened.

Don't get me wrong, I totally enjoyed no wait. Not much to do though with tastings currently suspended.
I was there mostly to meet with Darren, but if not I would have spent all of 5 minutes up there.
On a side note, I know this is a long shot, but does anyone have a collected works crate for sale/trade? We are using the same wood for the crib and it would be cool to hold toys or something with it.
