No it's fine, I get a little sensitive around you BA guys.

I do get asked a lot of I get free stuff from HFS or people asking me to get kegs for them and assuming I get extra beer beyond limits. Unless I drive up there 3 times in a week, I get the same as everyone else but honestly, because of Collected Works, I really wasn't expecting to get any of the release bottles that day. kind of like I used to do ride-alongs with my dad and the swat team or do bouncer work at clubs. I like doing the behind the scenes stuff so volunteering is fun.

So you're saying that you (and everyone else) being chosen to be in the Collected Works was random?

I get a lot of flack for being a "fanboi" as well, but it's just because I can see it from their side as well as the opposing side.

I had to work, so I couldn't make the release, but even if I had, I probably would have been shutout, cuz even I didn't predict the amount of people that would be there at such an early hour. Would I have been pissed if I went and got shut out? probably a little, yeah.

I actually was surprised that they did this release in this fashion. I thought that last year's Ann release was going to be the last "release event" they'd do.

Now I see why you guys thought that was me.

Btw... for those who haven't seen Shaun's latest approach regarding bottle availability:

Current BOTTLES available at the shop:

my first and only trip was absolutely awesome, planned in bout march to go up for a week at end of june, didnt expect any major releases at hill farm and honestly was going to be pretty happy with just there shelve beers and growlers, well low and behold a few weeks before my trip they announced that civil disobedience and madness and civilization would be released the thursday i was in town,
since i was on vacation with family and immediately realized that the brewery would be extremely crowded on thursday we drove up from waterbury on weds bought are bottles on shelve, anna and elaborative 1 from prior release, belief 2 weeks before, purchased some glassware and other merch and filled some growlers, are line was about 15 mins waiting and another 15-20 filling growlers, the tasting mad the time go much quicker
then thursday we drove back up to hill farm for are release bottles, there were about 5 people in line around 2ish when we got there purchased are bottles and left we were there for no more then maybe 10 minutes, but the growler line was huge, so planning ahead def made things easier
in the end it was an awesome trip, the car was completely going home, plenty of cases of heady and hill farm goodies to share with friends at home, this was when alchemist had a 6 case limit,

thought id share that my experience at hill farm was exceptional even during a release period

wait, you are in Collected Works? even though I'm 3.5 hours away from the brewery I didn't enter the Collected Works because I thought they wanted it to be for people who can't make it to the releases to be able to try the beers.

I go up there several times in a year and make most of the releases, so I refrained from entering, letting people who don't have that luxury a better chance.

oh well.

So is anybody going to spill the beans as to what's on the shelves right now? I'm guessing Mandarin Flora. Even my Burlington guy, who doesn't make it to HF often, is in the dark.

I'm assuming that whenever someone goes, they'll report back with what was on the shelf. At least that was the hope...

By going there, spreading the news through word of mouth, and hoping the news is only days old.

The first half of the twentieth century called.
They want their communications technology back

I'm sitting at Parker pie after a successful trip to HF and the alchemist. It was satsuma flora. Phil said he will tell you if you call, so I just suggest people call now.

That won't last long... 30 additional calls per day about which bottles are on the shelf/will be on the shelf when I visit in a month will get old...

They will say what's on now. They won't say what will be on.

They will say what's on now. They won't say what will be on.

But that won't stop people from trying.

Also, the I above wasn't about me... just a hypothetical. I am always going up regardless of what's available.

Yeah I don't think there is a bottle not worth getting. The only time I won't go up is if it's just stuff on tap that I have had super recently (unless it's everett, then I'm going no matter what)

It wouldn't surprise if Sean was aiming at people just coming to Hill Farmstead because they want to instead of coming specifically for something. This would spread out the traffic a bit (except on the weekends) and mean people aren't going to get a bug up their ass if something isn't there. It calms people down and makes him a destination rather than a competition for traders.

Will HFS fill any growler, or do they require the use of their glass? I'm heading up their next week and want to pack strategically...
