In regards to the increase in price for Flora Plum

I don't think it was the demand for Flora BB. It was as everyone else said the fact you could get 4 bottles of Flora BB AND 3 bottles of Norma in the same day combined with a **** ton of people in Boston for EBF = Busiest day ever.

I personally don't think the change in policy limits per person not per day is going to help, but I don't work at HF so idk how many people show up multiple days in a row and max their allotment of whatever barrel aged offering.

Now $22 for a 375ml... Russian River Beatification was $18 a 375ml, Duck Duck Gooze was $40. Veritas is $40 not one person has complained about those, they sell out instantly. Does it still make it ok ? Idk i don't run a brewery and know what it takes to make a profit or what stuff costs...... So essentially $44 for a 750 of Flora Plum. Flora was $30 and takes a year to produce Flora Plum takes 2 years to make and is $44..... Art was $40, Ann was $50ish..... CD10 $30 CD11 $35. Haters gonna hate, I'll still pay it but i'm not drinking one of these every night and breaking the bank here. I'm drinking a Treehouse can of Sap $3.75 for my beer tonight.....
This is a really boring discussion.

The vast majority of beer is under-priced. When brewers set prices in accordance with demand, people get angry. Don't try to justify the price. The market will let you know if the price is bad or not. If there is still Flora Plum available in July, the price is too high. But in all likelihood, everyone will max out, and tell themselves that they're being exploited. They're not. Their demand is inelastic based on price. If anything, I would guess Ann would still sell out at $100/bottle. But the angry feels then...

Agreed. Nothing we say will change or have an influence on the price and I frankly don't care. I pay for the experience of tasting something amazing. I used to buy Boars Head Turkey Breast for $9.99lb and when it was on sale $7.99lb at this one store they jacked the price up to $11.99lb and its never on sale. Guess what I complained it did nothing which I didn't expect them to lower the price anyways I simply don't shop there anymore. Don't like the price of Flora Plum ? Don't buy it. Go pay $9 for a ****** pour of Bud at Fenway. I'll smuggle in a bottle of Flora and really enjoy the game.

What the hell is the antithesis of Convivial Suarez? What does that even mean?

I don't have any insight, but reading that statement, my automatic assumption was that he meant the antithesis of "convivial", meaning Tarpey is quite a different personality in comparison to Suarez

But I also didn't pay much mind, because beer

Hope he goes with "Dour Tarpey"

Designated Drivers

We have once again elected to require designated drivers for attendees. We will provide a free designated driver ticket with each ticket purchase (one DD ticket per pair or single ticket purchased). The DD ticket will include free non-alcoholic beverages (local root beer, kombucha, etc.), a voucher good for one food purchase per individual from our vendors and event entry to enjoy the music and (we hope!) wonderful weather. Carpooling and DD-sharing is encouraged, especially for those of you coming from great distances. Attendees must enter with their designated driver; attendees without a designated driver will not be admitted.

Event has lost its allure to me for sure. Bummer as it was always a blast.

DD and online lottery for tickets suck. Don't even care about the price.
Set up a bus to waterbury where cabs are available and at least make folks go to the brewery to enter the lottery.

It is insane that at $100, it doesn't include food.

$100 made sense when it was a 200 person event that included camping and they were flying in 4-5 other breweries.
Then again they also ran out of beer before the event ended that year :)

Cue the "Supply and demand!" and "It's still gonna sell out!" posts.

2013 was incredible, would love to see this event return to that kind of glory. Oh well, I'm sure the draft list will be incredible just don't know if I'm looking to drop that kind of cash.

It's comical to me the people that claim this event is too much $$, yet will spend $30-$50 to ship a box across the country.
Standing around with no line at CBC's taps drinking 6 tasters of A Picture of Nectar, was worth the price of admission for me last year.
Or being able to walk up and drink Suarez Family Repeater.

Worth.Every.Penny.
