Hey guys,
So I am brewing my first high gravity beer. I kinda kicked my budget for the month on this one out the gate, so I want to make sure that I get it right.
I do not want for the fermentation to hang, so I created my first starter. It appears to be working.
This is my thought though.
Since these higher gravity beers tend to hang, would it be a good idea, that when I pitch the yeast to only pitch about 3/4 or so of it into the chilled wort?
Then, I can take the remainder add it to some low gravity starter wort and make second starter set?
I can then pitch that in about 2 - 3 days.
Saving a little bit, and storing a vile or two in the fridge just incase it hangs down the road?
What do y'all think?
