Tulsa. I teach at OSU Tulsa part time.

BTW, I have a couple questions - I got a Brewer's best kit and the recipe doesn't say how much water to boil the grains in. How big of a pot do I need and how much water to use?

Also, where can I find a floating thermometer?

I used to live there myself, many, many years ago.

The amount of water isn't a big deal. I'd recommend a pot that can handle 3 gallons or so. The more the better, but go with what you can afford or have room for. You'll want to boil in enough water to get good hop utilization, then top up with water to reach your desired gallons - typically five. I used a 4-gallon pot for years before going all-grain.

Any good LHBS should have a floating thermometer. You can also order online. Here is a place I've used before.

Hello bbriscoe! I'm pretty new to the game as well.

I'm pretty close to you. I'm in NW Arkansas about an hour out from Tulsa. It's good to see someone in the area brewing as well.
