In the pic from your gallery below, where did you find that plastic barb fitting? I've been looking everywhere for those!!!!

I saw one at Lowe's the other day but the barb is for a garden hose diameter...WAY too big for my brewing hoses.....

I found that at Lowes. I actually wanted brass but they only had plastic. It is a 3/8" barb. (For 3/8" ID tubing)

Hmmmm.....I'll have to look again.

I actually use brass on my MLT now, but I was looking for plastic for my home-made wort wizard.....

It was a long time ago but I got a brass one for my Mash/Lauter Tun at Home Depot. I bet they would have the plastic as well.

are they pvc or cpvc? doesnt it make a difference temperature wise?

Have you looked into irrigation parts? They use a lot of barb/threaded fittings in grey plastic...
