Well I racked this to a secondary today after 14 days in primary. This 1056 yeast is very different then the other yeasts I have used before which were medium to high floccuating. This stuff just hangs on forever. I left it in primary hoping that more would settle but it really doesn't want to. My FG is at 1.012 which is right on the button. :D I tasted the hydro sample and it really had a toasted taste presumably from the toasted 2-row in the recipe. It was still real yeastie though. Short of filtering.... will this yeast clear better in the next couple of weeks. I hope so, but I think this is going to be my best batch yet. Cheers :mug:
 
That manifold of yours is very professional looking! Those slots are more regular than a bran addicts bowel movements! Did you use a milling machine or something? Looks cool. :cool:

Thanks. Actually I just put the copper pieces in a vice and used a hacksaw. I just spaced them by eye. :D If you really looked close, you would see they are not all that evenly spaced. I just put my finger down where I wanted to cut and ran the hacksaw next to it to get a score into it and then cut.

That's exactly what I did. Did you have problems with the copper slipping in the vice?

Hey, judging by the typical time it takes to finish that little bit of work on these things, you probably bumped it just in time for a report on the first brew day!
