Hello all,
I have been using this forum for almost a year now, but just registered to post today. Compared to many of you, I am fairly new at this, but in the year that I have been doing this, I have learned a lot. I started making wine at home about 1.5 years ago, from kits. I couldn't believe how easy it was, so I thought I would try making beer. I bought one of those kits in a can and some corn sugar and set off to make my own beer. I cleaned a bunch of bottles using the sanitizer i used for my wine, and after it was all done, I tried my first beer.... It was not very good.... I was expecting the same easy, instant results with beer kits as I was getting with wine kits. I almost gave up.
But, I didn't give up. Instead I tried to get better. I stopped using those kits, and started to buy the Festa Brew Kits. Then moved to Extract, and Extract with Steeping grains. This past Christmas I built a keezer. A couple of months ago, I started brewing all grain (BIAB). I like most of my beer, and am enthralled with the process of making it.
I appreciate this forum, and all of you that have helped me begin this fun ride.
