I'm slowly building up to a herms system. Was gifted a kettle and some 3/8" OD stainless tubing in a coil; I need to get fittings to connect the tubing through the kettle, but as I've done this, two questions have come to mind:
1. Has anyone ever had an issue with a 3/8" OD stainless line being too small in diameter? I have 1/2" ID silicone lines to the pump and going back into the mash tun. So in essence 1/2" ID lines will be shrunk down to maybe 5/16", and then coming out will need to refill the 1/2" lines. Since I will be trying to do LODO with this setup, I'm concerned about air in the lines.
2. I'm going to really have to throttle down the pump (Blichmann Riptide). Any issues with trying to run wort through both the pump at low volume as well as the line?
I will have to use a dremel to open up the ends.
