HERMS Build Questions... Deal on Kegs?

Hi,

I have been brewing brewhouse kits for about a year now, and I want to start all grain brewing. I have been doing some research and I want to build a HERMS system, which I want to automate.

I will probably only be brewing 5 gallon batches. My question is, what are 50L kegs worth? A local guy has offered my 3 50L kegs for $225CDN.

Next if I build an Electric Herms system based on these 50L kegs, could I still brew 5 Gallon and 2 or 3 gallon batches, or would I have to brew bigger ones?

You can do 5 gallon batches in them but 2 - 3 gallons would need a different mash tun. 50L is roughly 13 gallons which is almost too small for 10 gallon batches but would work fine for 5.
