Help with tailpiece

As they say on radio "Long time reader, first time shank user..."

I'm unsure about the order of the tailpiece and gasket.

I thought it was
shank tailpiece gasket nut

but the gasket doesn't fit to the bottom of the tailpiece collar.

The following does work, but, IMO allows beer to come into contact with the gasket

What is the correct order of things?

The washer goes between the tailpiece and the shank. The nut will squeeze the tailpiece against the shank seat to create a seal.
