I'm am at the tail end of a hard cider experiment where I have about 18 different mini batches. I would like to carbonate each one individually so I went to the hardware store and picked up some gear to convert a 1L Pepsi bottle into a pressure vessel. I just did my first test with plain water and it worked perfectly. I filled up the bottle halfway (500ml) and shot 30psi into it. After disconnecting from the CO2 I did a 1-2 minute shake, poured it out and enjoyed the fizzy water that resulted.
My question is this: What would be the best way to go about getting 3-4vol of CO2 into each of the 18 batches quickly (think force carb) and to roughly the same level?
