I’m starting to do smaller batches of beer using my smaller Anvil.
I’m running into issues when transferring to a keg.
I use a 3/8 line connected to a ball lock out valve. I also run a couple of psi of co2 through the top opening. Not really pressurized but more to constantly run co2 to replace the oxygen. The prv is open on my keg. It seems like there’s not enough downward pressure on beer to force through the line. On the smaller anvil the beer barely trickles down to my keg. Last time I got so frustrated I grabbed my auto siphon and transferred through the keg lid.
I’ve used the above method for dozens of batches in my bigger 7gallon Anvil with no issues.
Anyone else run into this problem?

I do gravity transfers with my 4 gallon Anvil all the time, never had any issues. Drains at What I would deem a normal flow rate. I vent the CO2 from my purged keg back into the top of the fermenter to prevent vacuum/O2 ingress.

Thanks for that. There has to be a partial blockage somewhere, maybe the quick disconnect. Although when I was cleaning the fermentor I only had tubing connected with no valves and when the fv valve was wide open it struggled to get the cleaner out.

ps- nice setup.

I use exactly the same setup; it works very well and completely drains the Anvil. If you leverage gravity and equalize the pressure between the two vessels, either by connecting a gas jumper as @Ogilthorpe2 did, or simply opening both to the atmosphere (Anvil open on top, keg PRV pulled), it should flow to completion.

Try a test with water and see if something is blocked in the QD or poppet area. Alternately, check the Anvil's spigot for some anomaly.

Yeah I was thinking the culprit may be the poppet valve. It’s a fairly new 3g keg. I’ll test it.
Thanks for info.
