I am a first time kegger. Got my system all hooked up and beer in the keg. Went to get it carbonated and I cannot get the gas line to stop leaking on the gas line input post.

I have a pin lock keg and the leak is where it connects between the pin lock disconnect and the pin lock post for the gas side. Heavy audible air leaks out and you can feel it. If I press down hard enough it sounds like the leak stops but as soon as I let up it goes back to leaking.

What am I doing wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated from this rookie kegger!

Since it "goes away" when you press it, it sounds like the o-ring on the gas post might be bad. Do you have keg lube, or another o-ring? The other thing might be the o-ring on the internal side (the one that goes around the gas tube.) I suspect it's not the connection to the connector.

Thank you! Keg lube was perfect! Though I feel like a total newb at least I will have beer to drink in less than a week!

Wait until you lose the teflon washer that goes between the tank and regulator, and you burn through 2 5# tanks before catching the problem... Yep, guilty...:tank:
