Help me decide on a keg kit

Looking to start kegging this summer and I'm looking at a kit through kegconnection. Is their "Premium" setup worth the price over their "Standard" setup?

Premium setup:

As far as I can tell, the only difference is the regulator - the Premium has a "TAPRITE CO2 Regulator," whatever that means.

Yeah I don't see much of a difference between the basic and premium. If the regulator is the only difference I would stick with the basic since they are both dual gauge.

I personally like NB but that kit doesn't look like it has a CO2 tank so you are just paying for the regulator and connections.

unless you really want this thing this week I say keep your eyes peeled for a CO2 tank on CL as well as some cornie kegs. You can go to beveragefactory.com and pick up some things that you need as well.

I just think that places over charge for this stuff all the time. I like to pay $15-$20 for a cornie keg instead of 35-50.

Thanks, MgMt. I missed that NB is not complete. Kegconnection is definitely the better deal. I'll give CL a chance, but I am soooo sick of bottling!

I researched this for about a month before purchasing from keg connection on Monday. I went with the premium kit to get the name brand (Taprite) regulator. I also upgraded to the Perlick faucets. The older that I get, the less patience that I have to deal with problems from cheaper (less quality?) components. It is worth it to me to spend the extra money.

I priced my kit out from just about everybody out there. I even tried to piece together individual components from the vendors with the best prices on those items. Keg Connection was the best deal for what I wanted.

Find out where you are going to get your CO2 tank filled before ordering your kit. The places around me just do tank swaps, so it didn't make sence for me to get a brand new aluminum tank with the kit just to trade it in. I purchased my kit without a tank, and I will buy a filled tank from Airgas.
