On one of my trips to Victory this fall, I had a Zelt (sp?) Bier, which the waitress described as a "traditional oktoberfest like they actually serve in Germany" It was less malt forward, crisper hops. I know zelt is german for tent, so maybe I though this was just a play on words, but am curious if any of you have heard of this style?

I have heard that the beers served at Oktoberfest these days are closer to big Munich Helles than to the traditional amber/orange Oktoberfest/Marzen beers of the past (supposedly for greater drinkability, and the taste of many of the people who visit the fest). There was recently a post about Weihenstephan’s Fest, which is more in this style (although I can’t find it now).
