Hello everyone. Been reading through the forum for a few weeks trying to gain as much insight as I can into the world of mead. Finally today all my suppliesarrived and I was able to make my first 1 gallon home brew mead. Please don't get after me to hard for my lack of terminology. Lol. I decided the first one I wanted to make to be orange cinnamon. I read a bunch of different recipes and not really being a recipe follower to a T I kind of mixed a few together and came up with my own. I know your all going to yell at me but I don't have a hydrometer yet. Just kind of going off what I see happening in the jug, after all I am sure our viking friends didn't have them. Lol. Anyway my brew is in the basement already bubbling away. Looking forward to learning from you all

Thanks, so far it looks and smells fantastic.

I do have a question, I know I am a long way from bottling but how many 16oz bottles should I except from a gallon? Obviously the Lee's takes up some room in the bottle so I will lose that but if my calculations are correct I should be able to get around 8 bottles?
