Hi, I am a total noob at the brew game, but a long time lover of great beers/wines. Hope to get started brewing at home in the next 3 weeks, so I figure I have alot of reading to do. any suggestions?

Charlie P's second book, The Homebrewer's Companion is a good one for starting out as well. TCJOH has been the staple beginner text for many years.

Have fun reading, and don't get intimidated or bogged down in the details. Brewing is easy and fun, otherwise a guy like me couldn't manage it ;)

Cheers and welcome to the forum! :D

Welcome! I'm new here as well, but I'm sure you'll find that the folks are friendly and willing to help out as much as possible.
