Hello all!
I've been brewing beer as of mid March of this year. I've been making wine since 2006, mainly from kits, but also from grape juice; my first real harvest from grapes I planted in '06 will be this year. I got some last year but harvested them to early and the wine was to acidic to fix.
Anyway, not being much of a beer drinker but having all that fermenting equipment laying around I decided to try beer making anyway. Well, a ton of money later, I've brewed 30 gallons so far with only 2 batches being mini-mashes and the rest all grain. I did an IPA first from a mini-mash (to much hops for me little did I know, Beersmith says IBU of 54, I now know that is out of my "range") done a Honey Brown from a mini-mash kit thats currently kegged and aging which I think is pretty good, a "light-ish" style nondescript beer for my wife that's also kegged and ageing that I think turned out fantastic (she actually tasted a little that I had after filtering and carbed in a soda bottle and said "That's good!"), an Irish Red that might be infected but I'm going to let it go and see what happens, and 2 of my own recipes thrown together in Beersmith for a Blonde Ale and an Amber Ale; I'd certainly say I'm hooked. I've been reading here since March and see there is a wealth of information on this site. Hope you can bear with another noob!
