Just bought my first equipment this weekend to start brewing with extracts. Very excited to see what I can do within the limitations of a simple one bedroom apartment!

I enjoy all styles of beer, as long as it's not too syrupy sweet, or yellow and fizzy :)

As long as you have a stove that can handle a 2.5 gal boil then you're without most limitations. :)
Welcome! I'm native to So. Cal. and I hope to be able to show my family at Christmas how to brew, even if only one gallon.

I have a massive 3-tier system that brews 10G batches. Found I've been making too much beer lately. Ordered a 3G cooler, have a 4G pot, and am going to do stovetop Brew in a Bag for 2.5G batches.

Actually looking forward to being able to experiment without worrying about wasting too much money. And not lugging hundreds of pounds of equipment is nice too. I'm going to do solely 10G batches on my full system, with little batches more commonly.

Welcome to the obsession! :ban:

Seriously though, what part of So CA? There are lots of clubs and non-aligned home brewers in the area. I started off with the basic extract setup and now can brew 10 gallons at home (although that is really pushing the limits of my kettle). :tank:

In Santa Barbara County, very close to Firestone, Figueroa Mountain, Hollister Brewing, Telegraph and many others, all of them far too inspiring for me not to start brewing! I'm surprised I held out this long ... :D
