Hello all. Great finding this forum. I am just getting back into homebrewing after a 10 yr down time. Got all my equipment, bottles and books from the in laws basement and now I am into my third batch. I look forward to gaining a ton of information here and maybe sharing what little I can.

So far for the three batches I've done, the first and the third I got from Hydrocork, a local (Crest Hill) growing store with a small home brew section. The ingredients for the second batch I ordered online at Austin Homebrew supply. I did stop by a place in Warrenville the other day that seemed to have a good selection also, Brewers coop. They are connected to their own microbrew pub which is a bonus.

Welcome! Where are you getting your ingredients?

two brothers is a good company. they have some great beers. Check out in aurora il a shop called the fox valley homebrew store, its located near the casino, or if you really want a drive there is also a shop in st charles that has a huge selection of kits, grains, etc and prices are really decent. The owner Ed has a keg that he always samples whats on tap he has made plus him and his employees are always very accessible when you have a brewing question.

welcome!:mug:

LOL I know the brewers coop. I drive past it on the way to other home brew stores.

I've never been to the one in St. Charles, it's always been closed when I stopped by.

The other two are great. Can't find a carbonator cap between the two of them though.

im a huge fan of the one in st charles just for the fact they are really helpful and always have what im looking for. sometimes when i go to the aurora one or brewers coop they dont always have what i need. and its a pain in the ass cause then i have to change my brewing plans.

Welcome from Naperville! I like Two Brothers but not necessarily the Brewers Coop.

Does anyone go to Brew and Grow? I noticed they opened a location in Bolingbrook last week but I have no idea what brewing supplies they stock. Can't find any information on their website.

Two Brothers brewpub is full of win. And you're right, the Brewer's Coop doesn't always have everything, but it's made me plan ahead more.

The one in St. Charles is the one that got me started way back when, I used to do work in that area. I plan on going there again, just have to plan that trip out, it's not just around the corner. That might be a warmer weather trip, so I can take the scooter and enjoy the hour or so ride.
