Well, living in the Portland area all my life has exposed me to microbrew all my life. My friends all homebrew around me...so it's time for me to embrace my Northwest roots and fire up a fermenter of my own!

I have my first batch - an amber - bloop-blooping happily in the fermenter as I write this and am so happy for it! I have don a couple of Mr. Beer batches...but that doesn't really feel like making beer. This batch, though, is bona fide!

I've been browsing the threads through here for the last couple of weeks - what a great community! I'm looking forward to learning and experimenting more and more!
