I started out just lurking around here for about a month, then when I bought my brewing starter kit I decided I should go ahead and join. The information available here is nothing short of amazing.
Started brewing my first batch 2/19/14, looking forward to bottling this Sunday. It's a Brewcraft USA Extract kit, American Cream Ale. Once I get off work Sunday morning (I work Graveyard) I will check my gravity and if it is withing the parameters I will start bottling. Once that is done I will start brewing another Brewcraft USA kit, this time the Dry Hopped West Coast IPA.

I've been to Coeur D'Alene several times myself. Seasons and Capone's are great bars to get great beers. If you have some time, head up to Hayden to check out Daanen's. Unfortunately, I wasn't too impressed with Kootenai River Brewing Company.

Also, welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the addiction. I used to live in Coeur d'Alene. Very pretty place that I miss.

As your beer has been fermenting, I'll bet you've been salivating for the first sip! One thing I've noticed is while the FG may be low and stable, the yeast are still working on some of their other by products. There's nothing wrong with bottling when you've reached FG, but you'll be amazed at what a couple more days may do.

Good Luck!

There are a bunch of Craft breweries here now, the three that I tend to migrate toward are Selkirk Abbey in Post Falls, Trickster's in CD'A and Mad Bomber in Hayden. All really good beers, made by really good people, in fact Jeff at Selkirk Abbey set me up with a glass carboy when I mentioned to him that I was interested in brewing my own. It's been a while since I have gone to Capone's, but they do have great food, and I have a friend that is a cook at Seasons so I have eaten their food a few times. Been a long time since I have gone to Daanen's. There is a Total Wine and More in Spokane Valley now so I have got to try some really great beers through them, along with decent priced growler fills, had the Ninkasi Brewing - Dawn of the Red about three weeks ago, very tasty.
