Hey folks, I've been lurking for a little while. I am an avid Wine maker turned Home brewer! I never thought that it would be this much fun! After several liquid extract brews that turned out very well, I made the leap to All Grain Brewing... whew..., a bit of a learning curve, but the beer is amazing!
I am having fun and making a lot of really great beer, thanks to the help of the great folks here at homebrewtalk!

Hello from Northern NJ - 20 minutes from NYC.

Good luck with your brews, it's quite the addiction.

Thanks for the welcomes!
  • I just brewed an Imperial Irish Ale Yesterday
  • I have a Shock Top Clone in the fermenter as well (it tastes real close!), instead of going with a Pilsen base malt, I tried to stay true to the Belgian Wit bear and use a Wheat Malt as the base. I usually make ambers, so this is a nice light crisp change.
  • I have another brew in the secondary as we speak that I called "Rocket Ale", it was my first recipe, the ABV is 7.4%, hence the Rocket part..lol..everyone really likes it, so it is a keeper!
After doing a few searches here and finding how to mod a corona mill, I modded my Corona clone (DiscountTommy special) by mounting it to a bucket in a bucket setup with a drill for a motor, for now this works, I have an 8 gallon Stainless Kettle and a 10 Gallon converted Igloo Cooler with a false bottom as a mash Tun.
And finally, I am using BeerSmith to ensure that I'm not adding waaay too much grain and get 5% efficiency...LOL~!(joking)
A few buddies and I have really got the Brewing bug bad...lol...it makes it a lot of fun!
Learning more everyday!
