Hello all! I absolutely love this website. I brewed my first batch last month and had so many questions. Instead of posting them all I just searched HBT and found all of my answers.
My friends got me interested in homebrewing a while back. But I thought that I didn't have the space in my small NYC apartment. But, I figured I would give it a shot... I was surprised that I could in fact brew in my place, and that it actually turned out good.
My first beer was a Dunkel Hefeweizen. I don't like making things right out of the box, so I decided to create my own flavors. I used something similar to my grandmothers recipe for Pfefferkuchen (German cookie, tastes kinda like a gingerbread cookie, but not as sweet.) Everyone who has tried it loved it. So I must be doing something right.
I have decided that I am going to start brewing uncommon/old German styles. Like Dampfbier, Preusishce Bier , and Braunschweiger Mumme. Now I just gotta figure out how to make them
