I have recently decided that I would like to try brewing my own beer, did a google search and found y'all. I know nothing about making beer but I am really good at drinking it. Hoping to find some tips to make my attempts successful. I am armed with a BOP, (big ol pot) and a prepackaged starter kit made by BSG, (I think). I also purchased a 6 gallon glass carboy and airlock. I know there is other stuff I'll need so if there is a how to for newbs on here I'd appreciate pointing me to it so I can do the appropriate amount of research before starting.

You've come to the right place!

Best thing you can do is read, read and read some more. Once your comfortable start making some kits. I started with a Mr. Beer and moved to kits from Austin Homebrew Supply and a little over a year later I'll do All Grain.

A good book to read is "How to Brew" by John Palmer.

Welcome to a great hobby.

Welcome. From Concord NC myself. Good luck on your first batch. Don't stress on things like I did starting out. It's only beer.

Just starting myself. hello from Asheville. I just got accepted into the schools brewing, fermentation, and distillation program at the college up here. One of the only colleges giving a degree in this in the country! Trying to learn as much as I can right now

Beer is bubbling away, I have read quite a bit and also have quite a bit of experience in distillation so I didn't figure it would be too difficult for one of these kits, probably gonna have to attempt an all grain instead of the prepacked stuff pretty quick...
