Hello all,

My name is Brent people call me Moose. I run a cigar review website and I have been called to the wonderful world of home brewing. Being from Michigan is great with all of our craft breweries here. I love to travel around the state and drink beers from all the different places. And that is how I came to the idea that it was time for me to give this a shot. I have Caribou Slobber fermenting and I just picked up the stuff to do a double oatmeal chocolate stout. I am super excited to be doing this. I am still buying the extract kits as this is my second batch, but I am working towards being able to do all grain stuff. Anyway... I am just glad to be here and hope I find a place among you all.

Whats up Moose!?! Welcome to the brotherhood of homebrewing. I, too, am from the great Murder Mitten. I have been brewing for about 5 months now, and I tell you - the wealth of knowledge that is found on this site will keep you sane (or insane, depending on the subject). The search function in the top left will be your best friend, if you have a question, chances are its already been discussed, so you can get the answers you're looking for right away.

Keep with it and remember, RDWHAHB! relax, dont worry, have a home brew!

Well, I am too from Michigan, welcome to the website, it's a great place for answers. I live just north of Grand Rapids, in Rockford.

BE VERY CAREFUL though, homebrewing is additive!!!:D

I also hail from the great high five state. Welcome to the forums and welcome to the very addicting hobby! If you guys haven't seen this, you should.

Welcome from Lansing!

Michigan is a great beer state.

P.S. Looks like a lot of Spartan fans on this thread!

Not everyone can be smart like a Michigan person, so just like community college there is MSU

And ty for the warm welcome.

Welcome aboard Moose! I live in north Oakland County between Ortonville and Oxford. I've been brewing for a few years now and like the others have mentioned......it's addictive as hell! I started with extract batches with steeping grains over a turkey fryer on my patio and then progressed to cooler MT and larger ss kettle for AG brewing. Now I'm building a micro- brewery (eHERMs system) in my basement, so be careful or it can turn into an expensive addiction! Good luck in your brewing endeavors and let me know if I can be of any assistance. :mug:

Homebrewing is truly a great hobby. One that only gets better as you go. I'm from greenbay where most people here either worship the packers, drive drunk or both, so when people swerve into my lane and nearly cause an accident I think about my next brew and that keeps me from following them home and beating them with the packers gnome from their front lawn. Anyways... welcome to homebrewing! :D
