Hey all

I just kinda jumped into posting and didn't even think to make an intro

My name is Rodney from Memphis

So far all I've done is wine.....as soon as I get all my stuff bought though I'm gonna do my 1st brew (hopefully an all grain witbier)

Right now I'm still doing my research and buying stuff for my setup.

This is an outstanding place and everyone seems to be very nice.

Rodney

Hey rodney,

As you can see from the left i too am from Memphrica, TN. Welcome to HBT.

Have you been to see Mike at Midsouth Malts?

Oh yeah Midsouth malts rocks...........I made the mistake of going to the other one 1st (the one near the square) dude was creepie and complained because I came at 4:30 saying I was coming late.........their hours are 10-5 lol

yeah, my brew partner stopped in there one day just to see what they had. He was completely creeped out, the place was in total disarray, and if you've ever called the place he sounds drunk, permanently.

Mike is really a good guy, try something out of his kegerator, he has great stuff. Not to mention he's full of great knowledge and he's a BJCP certified judge so take him your one of each batch like i do and he can critique them.

I'm getting ready to head in there next week some time to buy grain and hops for about 5 ales i plan on doing the next 2 weeks.

If you know where bosco's on the square is (of course you do!) head in there with a plastic container and ask about getting some yeast. They give their ale yeast (it's WYeast 1056 but used on one of their beers so, even better) free to homebrewers. It's really cool because you get a container back so full of yeast it's scarey...
