Hello one and all from Lansdale, Pa. I got a "homebrew" kit about 14 years ago from a friend that fermented in a plastic football shaped container. The beer was brewed from the darkest foulest smelling stuff out of a can, but it always tasted better than what I could buy. Ever since then I have wanted to do it right but as the Navy kept me moving I never did. Now that I am retired I have the time and energy. I am still researching and reading what I can.
Thanks in advance for the advice I am sure to recieve

Looks like you're pretty close to Keystone Homebrew Supply in Montgomeryville. Check them out for supplies and friendly help. I'm just across the river in NJ, but use them as my LHBS.

Welcome!

Edit: My son is on the USS Scranton SSN 756 out of Norfolk.

I was just up in that area this weekend on the way to Lambertville and stopped into Keystone Homebrew. They had trucks loaded with California grapes and were pressing them for customers on request... I'm not a wine-maker, but that was pretty cool. They had a good selection of all things homebrew.

Welcome, NAVET!

Did they have the mad rush of winos with their buckets getting the seasons fresh grape juice? I went in there last year when the grapes first cam in and it was an absolute mad house.

Yeah, it was pretty busy and they seemed more focused on that than anything else, but I understood. If I were a winemaker, I would have been all over that, too.

EDIT: By the way, I stopped into your town, too, brewt00l. Had to pick up some Jules pizza (gluten-free). Nice town.

Jules is great...I was skeptical at first but the food is outstanding in general. Loving the new California Tortilla for a quick mexi takeout urge :)

Did you get a chance to hit the Mosquito Grill? Great beer selection with some really nice stuff on tap.

Nah, just passing through. Hit the cigar store real quick while waiting for pizza, but that's it.

Welcome to the site and best of luck on every brew you make. I lived in Lansdale, PA for about a year and half back in 1999-2000. I enjoyed living there. I'm blank on homebrew stores or brewpubs in that area, wasn't brewing or drinking craft beer back then. It was a dark time...

I'm the opposite direction up here in Pottsville PA and grew up in Delco/Ridley PA and have used the Keystone Homebrew store in Bethlehem. Jason has helped a good bit with some questions and their store is one floor below the brewworks restaurant. Go out for a trip to Bethlehem and a great meal and enjoy a great group of people.

Am right now waiting for their Golden ale to age/carb.

Welcome. I've only been here a short time but this is a great group and have learned a lot.
