Hello from Central Oregon

Greets, everyone!
A couple of guys where I work got chatting about all the great beer here in Bend, Oregon and one of them had done some brewing in the past, giving us the courage to jump in. Should be a great winter hobby while the fly-fishing waits for better weather!

Good to see plenty of knowledge being passed along, I'm sure I'll be needing it!

Dude welcome there is some great beer in the bend area, I just did a tour of the Deschutes brewery a couple of weeks back and had a pint of the Mt. Angel fresh hop ale at the bond street pub. Brewing is a great winter hobby but let me tell you before you know it you'll be doing it year round.

No Fresh Hop fest over there this year. Guess you'll have to find an excuse to hit Portland's on the 18th.

I was just over at the DMV and drove by and saw the sign for the tour. I'll have to check that out sometime.
I'm bummed I missed the COHO group brew, but I'll try and make one of the Wed. night events. Are they well attended?

Don't know about COHO attendance, as I live near the coast. However, a large number of them attend Hopmadness and I get the impression they are an active group.

I saw them at hopmadness and if you can judge the group by their beers, they are highly prolific. Loved the hop filter they had going!

I love Deschutes! Got family in Sisters but every time I'm up, I miss the opportunity for a tour. Last tour was in Portland at Bridgeport Brewery. My tour guide was a homebrewer and gave me a bit more involved explanation of the process, knowing I was a homebrewer myself. I think Bridgeport is now among my favorite breweries.

Went to Bend's Beer Fest about a year ago. Good times!
