If the diameter is much bigger than a 5 gallon bucket, probably not.

If you are looking at getting into BIAB I can't recommend the bags Wilserbrewer sells enough....

Hope that helps

Cheers

I was "hoping" to try to get things up and running for my first brew this weekend.Im sure the bag wouldn't be here by then.Plus I really didn't want to clean bags. For 2 bucks I would have rather just tossed the HD bags.

Sorry but a paint strainer on a 20 gallon pot ain't gonna work to well. How much grain? I have seen people use several paint strainers in one larger batch....while simply using and tossing HD bags sounds convenient, the hassle of using a smaller bag outweighs rinsing a proper sized bag IMO.

Priority mail could very likely get to you by Saturday? Maybe even Friday???

they are easy to clean, dump the grain, turn it inside-out & run through the washing machine with no soap easy as that. I don't think the paint strainer will work with that size pot, I think people who use the paint strainer are doing 3 gallons in 5 gallon pots. Some LHBS sell bags that work okay, they wear out kinda quick, and cost about $5 IIRC I think they are make by LD Carlson.

If you go the custom bag rout I know that Wilserbrewer ships pretty fast the bags I have ordered came in 2 or 3 days from NJ to OK & you are way closer

Good Luck whatever you decide to do

Cheers

A good tight weave bag like wils makes is better than paint bags. but paint bags work. I wouldn't use multiple bags. you do want easy access to the inside for the occasional stir. You could go buy a $9 polyester shower curtain and cut a square out of it, that'll fit your pot loosely. Use a bungy cord or something to secure it around the outside lip of the pot.

Cleaning? here's how i do it. Dump the grain, turn it inside out, rinse and let it dry dirty hanging from something. Once your done brewing, it'll be dry enough that the stubborn grain bits will fall right off with little effort rubbing the bag against itself with two hands. Then wash it in a bowl or pot with water and a couple drops of dish detergent and rinse thoroughly.

There's no way you'll be able to do a 10-gallon batch with a home depot strainer bag, unless your planned OG is 1.030. I've done 1.060 5-gallon batches with one, and that was the absolute limit of what I could fit in there.

Won't fit your pot. I stretch one around my 9 gallon bayou classic with a diameter of about 13.5". Barely fits. My beers are usually around 1.070 OG and 14-15 lb grain bills.
