Haven't Brewed In Few Weeks

It's been almost 6 wks now. Got the itch to brew this weekend just don't have the time. Got a Porter bottled and honey brown ale also. Thinking making a cream ale again the wife liked that one.

My porter taste like a hard liquer almost, is this normal? I take readings but don't record anything as of yet. It's drinkable, but seems like AC is a bit high.

It could be from fermenting too hot. You'll get a lot of "hot alcohol" flavors from higher fermentation. I really suggest picking up a program like BeerSmith, BeerTools Pro, or something similar. You'll eventually want to remake an extremely good batch, and if you don't have your numbers written down, you'll never perfectly duplicate it.
